English Curriculum and Instruction
EnglishCurriculum and Instruction is the second-level discipline in education of theFaculty of Education in Shandong Normal University. Graduate students began tobe enrolled in English Curriculm and Instruction in 2001. Master of Educationdegree has been established with the courses delivered in English and Chinese.Some compulsory courses as well as optional courses are offered by professorsin the Faculty of Education, and others by professor from School of Foreign Languages.The disciplinary direction focuses mainly on English Teaching and Learning, andTheory and Practice in Translation Teaching.
8 professorsand 4 associate professors are the academic advisers for the graduate studentsin English Curriculum and Instruction. The advisers focus on the development ofstudents’ educational practical activities, which help students participate ineducational practices, and promotes their research. In the Teaching PracticeCompetition in Shandong Province, 3 students in this discipline have beenrewarded first-place prize.
Whilemaintaining the traditions in educational research and expertise in curriculumand instruction, the academic advisers and graduate students are committed topromoting interdisciplinary collaboration between curriculum, instruction andEnglish teaching and learning with a mission to develop research in Englishcurriculum and instruction, and enhance education quality.
